Ten Eighty® Skateboard, Ramp was founded in 2022 by a group of passionate skateboarders who wanted to share their love of the sport with the world. Our mission is to make skateboarding accessible and enjoyable for riders of all ages and skill levels.
Our History
The idea for Ten Eighty originated in a small garage in California, where our founders first started tinkering with skateboard ramp designs. They were disappointed with the ramp options available at the time – ramps were either low quality and unstable or required extensive DIY construction.
After months of experimentation and late nights spent testing different materials and techniques, they finally created a modular ramp design that was affordable, easy to assemble, and suitable for all rider abilities. Excited by this breakthrough, our founders officially launched Ten Eighty® in January 2022.
In the beginning, operations were run entirely out of the garage where it all started. Ramp orders were fulfilled through manual assembly and local deliveries were completed using an old pickup truck. As excitement for our ramps grew, we expanded into a small warehouse and brought on a few employees to assist with ramp construction and shipping.
Today, just over a year since we first launched, Ten Eighty® operates out of a 20,000 square foot facility in Southern California. Our ramp kits are sold online and in select skate shops across the U.S. We now employ over 50 skateboard enthusiasts who handle everything from product design and manufacturing to customer service and marketing.
While we’ve grown dramatically in a short period of time, our commitment to making quality skateboarding accessible has remained the same. We’re continuously seeking new ways to innovate and improve, so that riders of all backgrounds can share in the joy of skateboarding.

Founders
Our founders leveraged their decades of combined skate experience to create Ten Eighty®. They work closely with our product team to provide guidance on innovations that align with the needs of skaters today. Though no longer involved in day-to-day operations, their leadership and vision continues to guide the brand.

Engineering & Product Development
Our product team constantly explores new technologies and techniques to improve our gear. Their backgrounds in mechanical engineering, industrial design, and pro skating allow them to turn ideas into well-designed, functional products optimized for skaters.
Manufacturing & Supply Chain
This team manages our Southern California production facility and oversees sourcing, inventory, and order fulfillment. Their efficient processes and quality control measures enable us to deliver exceptional products on time.
Marketing & Sales
Our marketing crew spreads the word about our brand and gear through content creation, social media, and collaborations with skate shops and influencers. The sales team builds relationships with retailers and manages e-commerce to make our products accessible.

Materials
We use top-grade materials from trusted suppliers across the globe. Our decks feature durable North American hardwood maple. Trucks and axles leverage strong but lightweight forged aluminum. Urethane wheels are poured and assembled in California. We also utilize recycled materials whenever possible to reduce waste.
Construction
Leveraging decades of combined skate experience, our designs are engineered to withstand hardcore use. Multi-ply laminated wood, cold-forged axles, and precision CNC manufacturing ensure strength and durability. We carefully hand assemble and inspect each component pre-shipment.

About Our Founder
Ten Eighty® was founded by passionate lifetime skater Eric Young. Growing up in Southern California, Eric fell in love with skating from the moment he first stepped on a board. After earning a business degree from the University of California, Eric worked for years in marketing roles in the action sports industry.
While he enjoyed promoting various brands, Eric grew frustrated with the lack of innovation and rising costs that made quality gear less accessible. He dreamed of launching his own brand focused on core skaters, inclusive communities, and spreading the joy of skating.
In his free time, Eric began creating plans and prototypes for his ideal skate brand. A few key ideas guided his vision:

- Core brand values like passion, quality, and community service
After years of product R&D conducted out of his garage, Eric officially launched Ten Eighty® with his life savings and small loans from friends and family. Quickly gaining buzz for their innovative ramp designs, the brand saw steady growth, allowing Eric to expand the product lineup to wheels, decks, safety gear and more.
Despite rapid growth, Eric remains focused on Ten Eighty’s core mission – to progress skate culture and make quality skating accessible for all. Though no longer involved in day-to-day business operations, he still mentors the Ten Eighty® team to follow his lead and “skate like you want others to skate.”
Our Manufacturing Process
Ten Eighty® leverages innovative design and disciplined manufacturing techniques to produce our high-performance skate products.
Design
All our products begin with our design team leveraging input from pro skaters combined with the latest technologies. We use 3D modeling and finite element analysis to optimize strength, weight, and functionality before prototyping begins.
Prototyping
We produce multiple generations of prototypes for hands-on product testing. Our skaters beat prototypes to shreds under real-world conditions while providing qualitative feedback to our designers.
Materials Sourcing
We carefully select premium materials from trusted global suppliers. Our hardwood maple comes from sustainable North American lumberyards. Aluminum is sourced from mills with high standards for quality control and worker welfare. Urethane wheel formulas are perfected in our California labs.
Fabrication
Our California production facility houses state-of-the-art fabrication equipment optimized for each step of the production process. This includes modern presses for shaping laminated wood, precision CNC mills for metal parts, and advanced molding equipment for urethane. Digital production tracking allows quality control at every stage.
Assembly
Skilled workers hand assemble each component, diligently inspecting each piece for blemishes or defects. Decks are cut to size, trucks mounted, bearings lubricated, and wheels secured with even tension. Our tolerance for error is zero.
Packaging
Products are carefully packaged to prevent damage in transit while minimizing waste. We use recycled cardboard boxes sealed with bio-degradable void fill and protective wraps made from plant-based materials. Detailed user guides help customers assemble and maintain their gear.
Distribution
Orders are fulfilled globally from our California warehouse. We leverage relationships with leading carriers to offer fast, affordable shipping with real-time tracking. Local teams also handle direct delivery for events, demos, and wholesale orders.

- International Growth: We’ve received inquiries from skate enthusiasts around the world interested in our products. We plan to expand international shipping and distribution to help spread our brand globally.
- Core Shop Partnerships: We want to strengthen win-win partnerships with independent skate shops by offering more co-branded products and local marketing support. This will help shops thrive while expanding our brand reach.
